Do I Ever Get Nervous Public Speaking in Front of Thousands of People? My Truthful Answer.
Sep 27, 2026
I've spoken to some big crowds, where there was lots of pressure on me to not make any mistakes.
Here's just one example below.
I was speaking 2nd out of 60 speakers at The Romanian Palace of the Parliament.
Some of the biggest and most popular names in Romania opened the event.
I spoke directly after one of the most popular medical doctors on the planet.
Was I nervous?
Of course I was.
Although I feel the nervousness at all my public talks, I understand that being nervous is natural, simply because all humans are hard wired neurologically as pack animals. This means that how we're perceived by "the group" is very important to us. Due to our pack animal design, we perceive that screwing up in front of the group, equates to death, because obviously the group will turn away from supporting us if we make a big mistake.
I simply understand this nervousness as being illogical and irrational at its very core and walk into the nervousness with an open heart regardless. That's how I cope. This doesn't dissolve being nervous, it just helps me understand it on a deeper level.
I'm not sure if you can see it in this big public talk below, but I'm always a bit nervous before I hit the stage anywhere.
Saying that, I've developed some mental strategies, in order to mind control myself to overcome this illogical fear of the group.
In life, you can indeed let this "group pressure" get the better of you. If you do that, you'll allow the nervousness of new situations to make you sit down and avoid potential greatness and important community contributions. Yes, you could screw up but you could also just as easily do really well.
Life doesn't get any better living from the couch, it just feels better in the short run. If you live from the couch, you'll indeed avoid the bouts of nervousness that always come about when you decide to step outside your comfort zone. But doesn't all that involve hiding the best of yourself from the world as well?
Have you flexed your true human potential in this life yet, or have you permitted this "group pressure" nervousness around new situations; to make you sit down and take the road most travelled by? (the road of conformity and playing small) Doing what everyone else is doing, will only get you what everyone else is getting.
It doesn't matter what age you are currently, there's still lots of time to understand yourself and to step gradually into greater community contribution. I know it's easier to blend in and "go along to get along", compared to standing out (and standing on stage) but contribution and public service is actually why you're here. You were meant to be on the stage and there's something inside of you that knows that too.
Are you ready for something more in life? If you said yes, this is what I would suggest. I suggest you get educated on human psychology, in order to understand why all humans feel more comfortable in the background. Yes, all humans are hardwired to feel safer being mediocre, average and living as a "nonthreat" to others. Although living like this feels safer at the time, as the years slip by we start to understand that this "safe feeling" (that we get by becoming a perpetual people pleaser)....is really a trap of sorts for the human soul.
My suggestion is that you start your journey out of this soul destructive safe zone, with the support of myself and 150 of your new classmates inside my Overcoming Self Sabotage Coaching Program. Here you'll master self-sabotage psychology, in order that you first understand your own behaviors and beliefs, to a very high degree. After you learn how to overcome what holds you back personally (and how to reprogram around that), you can then start a successful coaching business teaching that skill to others. This program is a full life makeover for people who understand that they would rather live life on the stage, compared to living life on the couch.
