They Threw Away Tens of Millions Because They Were All Afraid of This One Thing
Jan 04, 2025
When you get your dream life, you would think you would be super happy, right? Well, unfortunately that's not the way the human nervous system is designed. The human nervous system doesn't like change whatsoever. There are ways to help people change without too much rebellion, but the genetic design of our bodies is to stay the same. We're designed to like predictability and safety. If today is like yesterday, we find it safer because it's predictable. If today is different than yesterday, we find things unsafe, because the predictability is missing. This may sound counterintuitive, especially if you're receiving your dream life on a silver platter, but the same rules apply unfortunately in all situations.
Take for example NFL quarterback Michael Vick. Regarded as maybe the best athlete in all sport's history, across all sports. Vick was a standout from the very first time he took to the NFL field for the Atlanta Falcons. His initial contract was extremely lucrative, in the tens of millions of dollars. His first years were outstanding, earning him a second contract, which was the largest NFL contract in history....at that point in time. This second contract was over 100 million dollars in total. At that point he was using the money to organize an illegal dog fighting ring, up and down the east coast of the United States. Shortly after he signed his second contract he was caught.....tried in court, convicted and jailed. Vick lost everything. This isn't an isolated incident and it's an extremely common psychological occurrence. Why would anyone go back to their 'tough life with their old criminal friends' and throw away their lifelong dream? Easy, basic human psychology has our answers.
We also have Vin Baker, a man who played in the NBA, making over $100 million during his career. After his career was over, he was said to have almost no money and had to take a job working as a manager at a Starbucks coffee shop. We also have Aaron Hernandez, a star tight end for the NHL's New England Patriots. His initial contract was also in the millions and his second contract with New England was over $50 million. Later it was discovered that Aaron Hernandez was trying to destroy his amazing life for many years behind the scenes. He was arrested for murder, quickly after signing the $50 million plus contract. Further investigation revealed that Hernandez was most likely a serial murderer......who just wanted his good life to end. It appeared that Hernandez had been wanting to destroy his good life for almost a decade and was doing everything he could to get caught. In order to bring back his old chaotic poor man's thug life. But why? Again, basic human psychology has our answers.
The reason why we see this, is the same reason why half of lotto winners are found to be broke, 5 years plus after their big win.......regardless of the size of the jackpot they took home. Humans are pack animals and can only find safety (in most cases) inside the bigger herd. We don't like small groups. We like big groups. There's more safety in the bigger group. The bigger group is the poor, chaotic and struggling group. The smaller group (maybe the smallest group in the world) is the abundant, peaceful and happy group. Getting forced into the smaller wealthy group can be terrifying, especially if your group is poor, broke and at odds with wealthy folks. This fear often ends with the subconscious mind (a part of our mind we don't control) doing everything it can to get us back into the bigger group......even if doing so destroys our dreams, our families and even takes our life. Our subconscious doesn't care about our happiness, it simply wants us to be safe in the bigger group. If the bigger group is overweight, broke and miserable....the subconscious is bringing us there regardless.
Group pressure or what's called group dynamics in psychology, rules our lives.......mostly outside our conscious awareness. Our genetic need to feel safe in the bigger group can lead us into poverty, chaos, despair, depression and dysfunction quite easily.
Even the average person today will work jobs they don't enjoy, eat foods that make them sick, drink liquids that destroy their innate human potential and generally waste their life doing things that are illogical and irrational. The reason they do this is for the same psychological reasons that ambushed Vick, Hernandez, Baker and half of the lotto winners. They just feel more comfortable in the bigger group. They feel more comfortable hanging with their old posse, tribe or gang. It's safer down with the turkeys, compared to flying with the eagles, for most folks. We're all wired the same way. Aaron Hernandez was even recorded while talking to his mother on a prison phone saying, "I just feel more comfortable here in prison Mom, compared to being out on the field where everyone loves me and cheers me on." If you want to have your dreams come true, this is extremely important information.
This is just one facet of being successful, abundant and happy. You need to trick your subconscious to be OK in the smaller group, so you don't destroy everything good that comes your way in life. There are some other aspects as well to building a better future for you and your family.
